The Willamette river is viewed at sunset, the radio towers on the western hills of Portland turn on their lights in the distance. Birds, fish, and people on boats and jetskis can be seen. The filmmaker reads excerpts of oral histories, testimonies, and diary entries from survivors, witnesses, and perpetrators of the atrocities that took place in the city of Nanjing in the winter of 1937. A version without the narration is also available.
